The Associated Press:The charges against New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma after an arrest last month were dropped this morning.
Vilma was arrested in Miami for reckless driving and obstruction of justice, both misdemeanors, and later charged with a felony count of resisting arrest. Prosecutors did not immediately provide a reason for suspending the case.
Vilma will be a free agent come Friday but says he would like to stay in New Orleans. He led the Saints in tackles last season. Vilma spent his first four years in the NFL with the New York Jets.
