Joba May Be Limited to 150 Innings

Mark Feinsand of the Daily News is speculating that Joe Girardi may place a 150-inning limit on Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain this season.

One thing that won't change much is the handling of Chamberlain, as the 23-year-old will be on an innings limit this season. The Yankees won't reveal what that total is, but it is expected to cap out around 150, 50 innings more than he pitched last season.

Joba is going to be the 5th starter come Opening Day, and as a Mets fan even I can admit I'm excited to watch him pitch full-time. Chamberlain is a young talent with nasty, nasty stuff, but there are concerns of working him too hard too early. Many believe that Joba is better suited to become Mariano Rivera's replacement as closer and should stay in the bullpen, and adding more "Joba Rules" makes this season that much more intriguing for Yankee fans.
