"Mysterious" Hand Injury for Tatis?

Bart Hubbach of the New York Post is reporting that Mets outfielder Fernando Tatis is out with what is being called a "mysterious" injury to his right hand.

Tatis told The Post he would be unable to play today when the Mets open their Grapefruit League schedule in Fort Lauderdale against the Orioles, and an X-ray could be next.

Manuel said he thinks Tatis was hurt during the intense 80-pitch hitting drill the manager instituted this season to help his players fight through fatigue. "It just happened to swell up on him, so I'll probably take responsibility for that," Manuel said.

  2. oh, and I think this isn't the worst thing, this just solidifies the importance of a mr. daniel murphy. It's nice to see that los mets will be giving their young guns a real shot at playing everyday rather than sticking with over the hill guys like tatis.
