Word out of the Cincinnati Enquirer is that Bengals wide receiver T.J. Houshmanzadeh is the Giants top free agent target.While Houshmandzadeh is a reliable receiver, TSN noted, "there is no way to find a comparable replacement to Plaxico Burress, as 6-5 receivers with speed and a huge wingspan are almost impossible to find. Burress faces a serious legal battle and possible jail time as a result of illegal gun charges."
The Giants have an obvious need at wide receiver right now, and Houshmanzadeh makes for a nice fit in New York. Housh is an underrated and fiery competitor whose put up very solid numbers the past couple of years, and even outshined playmaker Chad Johnson in recent times. Definitely the kind of player Giants fans would grow to appreciate.
As the Plaxico saga continues, this is welcome news for fans of the Big Blue...
