Jets Keeping Tabs on Released Players

Rich Cimini, over on his blog for the NYDN "The Jets Stream", speculates that the Jets are "keeping tabs" on wide receiver Laveranues Coles and linebacker David Bowens.

Both players were released last month, but Coles hasn't had too much interest from other teams around the league, and Bowens was mostly cut due to a roster bonus he was owed that the Jets didn't want to pay.

While it still seems unlikely for Coles to return, Bowens could come back at the "right price" and play a back up role or special teams. Coles visited Buffalo over the weekend, and is said to be garnering some interest from Cincinnati as well. However, he left the Bills facilities with no contract offer and the Bengals are still pursuing the re-signing of TJ Houshmandzadeh.
