Plaxico and Giants Not Done Yet

The Associated Press is reporting that Giants GM Jerry Reese still has yet to rule out bringing wide receiver Plaxico Burress back to the team next season.

It's a sticky situation for Big Blue because Burress is still facing illegal gun charges that could put him behind bars for 3 1/2 years if convicted.

As a Giants fan, there is no denying what Burress means to the team. If he doesn't shoot himself in the leg, the G-Men probably would have won their second consecutive NFC title, at the very least.

On the other hand, Plaxico has been given a number of opportunities. I'm not sure how much farther the he and the Giants can stay in this relationship. After begging for a new contract, the Giants finally gave it to Plax and he miserably failed them.

Plus, with T.J. Houshmanzadeh off to Seattle, the Giants options as a number-one target have diminished. I'm torn on the whole Plax issue because I love him as a player but he has done countless questionable things off the field to lose my respect. We'll see how the situation unfolds...
