REPORT: A-Rod Out Until May

Reports are out right now that Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez will have surgery on his injured hip, and will be out until the middle of May.

If these reports are confirmed as official, we will update accordingly.

**UPDATE** - 11:15a - The report is coming from Rodriguez's brother, Joe Dunand.

**UPDATE** - 11:20a - The report can be found on MLB.com. Apparently A-Rod has dropped out of the WBC and will spend 2 weeks in the hospital recovering from the surgery before returning to baseball activities.

The operation will be performed by Dr. Marc Phillipon in Vail, Colorado, where Rodriguez traveled on Wednesday to be examined.
