- Pitcher Johan Santana is scheduled to throw live batting practice Saturday afternoon.
- Southpaw reliever Tom Martin will be sidelined for at least a week, with what is being considered a right calf injury.
- Fernando Tatis will be taking the roster spot left vacant by Alex Rodriguez.
Yankees:
- Edwar Ramirez pitched off a mound yesterday for the first time since being sidelined with shoulder bursitis two weeks ago. He will need several more bullpen session before being cleared for game action.
- No updates on A-Rod, other than he is holding off on hip surgery for right now.
