Yankees Tie Houston 5-5

The Yankees tied the Houston Astros 5-5 in spring training today.

Outfielder Melky Cabrera had 2 hits, 2 RBI, and 1 run in 3 at bats, while Jorge Posada had a hit and an RBI from the DH spot on the afternoon.

Yankee's pitcher Chien Ming Wang gave up 2 hits and no runs over 2 innings, and Brett Tomko allowed 1 earned run with a walk and 2 strikeouts in two innings of relief.

With Cabrera having a solid day at the plate it will be interesting to see how the battle for center field between he and Brett Gardner heats up over the next few weeks.

The bigger story on the day was Wang's effective return in his first appearance this spring.
